Resources for Final Projects

Pick 2 or 3 activities from the list below.  Then you can move on to your next Simple Schooling Science course!

1.  Get an amphibian pet.  There aren't many amphibians that make good pets for kids, but you did learn about three in unit seventeen.  Make sure you do your homework before taking on the responsibility of these pets.

2.  You can also but tadpoles and raise them through their life cycle.  Check out these websites for more information about raising frogs form tadpoles.

http://animal.discovery.com/videos/backyard-habitat-make-a-tadpole-aquarium.html

http://www.hometrainingtools.com/frogs-tadpoles/c/158/

3.  If raising a live amphibian wasn't what you were thinking when you thought about projects, why not write a report?  You can use the report sheet at the end of the course to get your ideas down.  Then transfer your answers to another sheet of paper and write it all down in complete sentences.

4.  How about making an amphibian diorama.  A diorama is a 3-d representation of an animal's habitat.  Pick your favorite amphibian and then try to recreate their habitat in a box.  You can get more information about how to make a diorama here: http://www.squidoo.com/shoebox-diorama

5.  Fill out the compare and contrast sheets at the end of the course. This is a good way to see how the different types of amphibians are alike and different.

6.  Younger kids can read Flora the Frog by Shirley Isherwood.  Find it here: http://www.amazon.com/Flora-Frog-Shirley-Isherwood/dp/1561452238

Our Testimonials

After lucking into a trip to Portland recently, began to get some pushback from my dear hubby regarding losing a week's school to take the trip. Was able to get the Simple Schooling "Volcanoes" unit to tie in to planned side trip to Mt. St. Helens

I am so grateful for these freebies! we are beginning to study the arctic and I was clueless...until your freebies!! Thank you so very much! My daughter loves wolves and thus it has begun to spring her interest in Alaska, which then led into the arct

I loved the bears of north america unit study. I was hesitant to open at first. I thought it would be too difficult for my 3yr. But I sat with him on my lap and he was riveted. He sat for the whole study- something that is hard for him to do.
