The Interactive Electricity and Magnetism study was fun and educational. My daughters loved how you expressed the dangers of putting anything (including finger) inside of a socket. They especially enjoyed the jeopardy game! We also took advantage of the .99 unity study of Thomas Edison. That will be studied alongside Lewis Lattimar. Thank you for your dedication.

My 11 year-old dd and I completed our first Simple Schooling Freebie today and loved it. The unit was on gardening, and we chose the interactive version. It was simple to use and even gave a score at the completion of the unit quiz. We can't wait to use more of the Simple Schooling interactive units.

Simple Schooling Unit Studies

We enjoy doing unit studies during the summer (turning them into lapbooks) and Simple Schooling always seems to have what we're looking for - either free or one to purchase. We covered 4-5 topics during the summer so it is hard to pick out a favorite. Just thankful that SS is a resource we can use.

I came across Simple Schooling through a newsletter - was intrigued by it and signed up for the newsletter. My children have enjoyed the interactive studies - my little 5yo was working on the Bees unit and loved it (although it was a bit hard for her with the reading parts on the quiz...I didn't notice the sound button until later). I like the audio and the interactive sections. My high schoolers are looking fwd to the Forensics studies and the Horse units.

I am really loving this site and the unit studies. My 3rd grader tried out the ocean unit study this semester and learned a great deal from it. He loved that it was online, had interesting information and great videos. I loved how easy it was for me to get him started learning. I am looking forward to using this more in the following school year.

We are new to homeschooling and I found this website just browsing through homeschool sites one day. I downloaded and printed out the Spring freebie Unit Study. I honestly didn't think it would be that informative, just thought it would be "fun facts" type of thing. All my children (ages 4 - 10) LOVED this study! I also didn't think my 4 year old daughter could do the study with her 3rd and 4th grade brothers, but she sat right there with us and enjoyed every minute of it! I will DEFINITELY be using more Unit Studies in the future!

We love all of the unit studies for shorter studies. Most of our time has been spent with the Anatomy and Physiology course. One of my girls wants to be a physician so she is really enjoying this study. Very well written and easy to use.

Love the new look and ease of finding things. There is so much to see; looking forward to finding out all the great projects and lessons.

I have only begun to use this site and all the free stuff overwhelms me, I have never seen one site that is so useful and it well organized and I can see myself getting on here for hours at a time and still I would not get to see everything. We used the April 2010 interactive Bees freebie. That was really a nice break from the normal pencil & paper routine. The interactive course really helped to learn and know about bees. Very simple interface with ease of use and lots to learn! We are glad to have had the opportunity to use this interactive course. Thank you so much!

My 2 1/2 year old son and I went through the free "Bee" Unit, which was adorable! The curriculum was so cute, and well written that my son correctly identified the Abdomen, Thorax, and head of the bee! This amazed me! He loved it so much he said, "Momma, I want to learn more!" We tried the simple schooling freebie Great Explorers. It was great although my kids kept trying to make it hard, lol. It was easy for them to do and I think they really enjoyed it. I liked that vocab was included and that the children had to look up the definitions. The reading wasn't to heavy but covered everything they needed to know. The time line though short was a very nice addition I have not seen any of the other programs we have tried.

Middle School Physics

My two 7th graders recently finished Middle School Physics I. It was a really great course. I found it very easy to implement and feel my kids learned a great deal about Physics. They were able to work independently, yet the course was meaty enough. Everything was well laid out and easy to understand. My kids are looking forward to Physics II.

I used Middle School Physics this past fall '09 with my two middle schoolers. They enjoyed it a lot! I found it to be very informative and the links were a nice addition. It is very easy to schedule too. It integrated the outside manipulatives quite well.

I just discovered Simple Schooling and am already hooked! The Horse unit freebie is fantastic. My teenager loves horses - I wish I'd had this unit a long time ago.

We are using the middle ages study. My 12 year old loves it and so do I. We are actually getting history done on a daily basis. He is learning so much more with this study. The links and worksheets are wonderful. I can't Thank you enough for this!

I got the refferal to Simple Schooling from another homeschooling friend. We were looking for Horse Unit Study to use for our book club activity. I wanted to buy it but the particular unit study is not available to purchase individually. I have to pay for the whole thing. So I checked out the freebies, and my kids just absolutely LOVED it! They learned about BEES and JELLYFISH in a few minutes and right afterwards they ran out to draw pictures of the life cycles just like the ones on the site. I love the enthusiasm and independence that the site provide. My kids also love the way the voice read to them, they said it sounded like mine..lol

Simple Schooling has wonderful Freebies. I have several pdf unit studies that I plan to use for next year. My 3rd grader has tried part of an online unit study freebie and she enjoyed it. We are leaning toward a subscription for next year.

The Curriculum is great. I have found alot on this site that has helped me out greatly. My children love the interactive units as well... Its Awesome!

My daughter loves the interactive unit studies! They are so educational and they are fun for her. I love them because I don't have to plan a thing, but I know she's learning! And I like to extend the unit studies into the outside world when possible (i.e. go searching for butterflys after the butterfly unit.)

We were so excited to get this freebie. My dd, 9, was talking about wanting to learn more about bees and then this came in my email box! We went through the lesson. We all learned so much. Then we made bread with honey instead of sugar, a recipe I found in Family Circle. Then my dd suggested her Writing assignment be to write what she learned. WOW! Great family fun.

This is a good unit study for both of my boys who ages 7 and 4. It is simple to use and they learn a lot from it. We are doing insect study this month and this unit study just fit our learning perfectly.

1st: I Love the New Site Layout & coloring -- so easy on the eyes & easy to navigate.

2nd: The unit studies are great. I really appreciate how they hit the high points & leave so much room for personalizing -- gearing down or ramping up --to fit the needs of the student, teacher, or even a "bad hair" day. These are also great for "throw down" units if someone else has to pinch hit or one has to travel.

So far we've only done a few units. OH, MY! They are fantastic. The information, I thought, was a bit over my 3rd grade daughter's head, but I was wrong! The way it was presented was perfect. She could narrate back to her Dad so much of what she read that we were stunned!

I later had her notebook a page to keep a record in her file and the drawings and information were more detailed than I expected of her. I know it was the presentation that helped her remember it all.

the freebies from Nov. and December were great --- I don't mean to say they aren't ALL great--- just that the freebies for those 2 months provided great resources of information and many rabbit trail opportunities that filled up the space between Thanksgiving week though new years

We love the freebies and are looking forward to the online unit studies. The freebies are great fill ins and I like that there is something for all grade levels. I can use them with my preschooler and my middle schooler. My oldest is in public school and I even found him doing the Forensic Science freebie and asking why his school didn't have a class like that. Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do.

After spending hours on a search engine.. looking, hoping praying for a better way to school... I dont know how but i stumbled onto this site... and all I can say is Awesome. My kids get on first thing and spend hours on this not because of boredom but because the pleasure it is for them to get away from bookwork and absorb themselves into your unit studies. It is a blessing to have found simple schooling and I let all my friends know how much it is worth and the cost is so worth it! thanks so much for creating this site... I no longer stress about Science anymore! woo hoo!

Middle School Physics

My dd used this middle school physics last year and loved it. It was easy for her to follow and work through independently. We were impressed with the content and links. It was a good introduction to Physics.

In trying to determine if I would be able to teach my children at home, I have found the information invaluable that has been in the Freebies on this site. I am gathering information and lessons in order to create an eclectic home schooling environment. I will be subscribing to this resource to help me with my bright third grader. I feel the information is presented in a way she will be able to handle on her own in some cases, and as a group with other topics.

Simple Schooling has simplified my school schedule. I am able to focus more of my teacher prep on other subjects when I know that when the kids are doing 'Simple School' the subject is covered in an engaging visual manner. Thanks Simple School.

Middle School Physics

Middle school Physics has been interesting and I have been quite pleased with it. I was hoping to have both boys do this program but it is a bit much for Dutch (4th grade) although he was willing to listen in. We stopped in the middle because I (of course) bought a new curriculum that was a unit study that included science. However we will be starting back up again this week as the unit study is going over astronomy and Jazz has already done that, so I will have the boys seperate for science.

Stuff I like:
Jasper enjoyed what we did so far, and has even applied some of this knowledge in casual conversation. (actually, so has Dutch, so I guess when he is listening he is retaining some too.)

I like how it is set up and having the teacher guide and lab books are handy. I love that it is on the computer and doesn't take up space on my already crowded bookshelves. (one of my favorite things about all the simple schooling stuff)

The websites and video links embedded are lovely. I know they will deteriorate in time...but I do like having them in there.

J. Annes writing is amusing. The boys liked reading examples starring "your crazy mother" turning donuts in the parking lot. She made us laugh out loud and not many physics texts will do that!!

A couple of things I wasn't crazy about:
I wish the lab assignments were IN the regular book...I am bad about going through it ahead of time and we missed them fairly regularly. I also didn't feel like the lab assignments were as specifically related to the lessons as I would have liked.
It would also be handy to have imbedded links to the teachers manual in the text (or maybe vice versa) so that I didn't have to click back and forth on them for planning. (cuz I already confessed I don't do that so much.)

All in all I am pleased with the price and scope of this curriculum...I will update this as we finish.

They are a great fill in when life is in the middle of "happening" and the kids still need to get some schooling in. Entertaining and Educational! How could you lose? I homeschool 2 elementary aged boys. One boy does an interactive unit study, and the other works with Mom on something he needs help with. They enjoy the science studies so much, I almost have to force them away from them.

They are learning so much and when visiting grandparents they'll let them know what they are learning. Plus it's super cool because it's on the computer. Because of the boys telling Nana what they are learning, she no longer complains about the boys being on the computer to do "school" work.

It's great! Thanks so much for making such awesome educational studies for our children!!!

We have used your freebies forever and just became members to the Unit Studies about 2 months ago. They are the favorite part of my daughter's day. I love how easy it is and we both love the information and the interactive studies. I believe this is the future of homeschooling!
